Valentine’s Day Shopping Tips
- Shop as early as possible, both to ensure on-time shipping AND to take advantage of the Valentine’s Day Sales that retailers drop in the weeks leading up to Feb. 14.
- Be sure to compare prices at different retailers, and don’t forget to factor in shipping and delivery. When ordering flower delivery, delivery costs can raise the advertised price significantly — so always look for promo codes. Another way to save on flowers: Shop at your local grocery store, or even order flowers from Instacart.
- If roses are too expensive (they’re in demand, after all!), look for alternatives, like succulents, houseplants and even dried flowers.
- Make sure you are familiar with the retailer’s exchange and return policy, should the items not work out.
- Install a browser extension like RetailMeNot’s that automatically applies coupons and cash back offers for you at check out.
- Use cash back offers. RetailMeNot’s cash back offers give you a percentage of what you spend BACK in your pocket. So if you’re facing some sticker shock when it comes to the price of flower delivery or gift in general, just think about that money you’ll be getting back from spoiling your beloved.
